Mission Statement
The purpose of the Pacetti Bay Library Media Center is to provide our community of users access to information and resources. Our mission is for students to develop lifelong reading and learning habits, as well as demonstrate the ability to locate, identify, and select resources using a variety of media. Students should also be able to demonstrate ability to apply reference and research skills in retrieving ideas and information from a variety of resources and use higher-order thinking to evaluate, organize, analyze, and synthesize information and ideas for both problem-solving and decision making.
Policies
- Students can check out up to 2 books at a time.
- Library books are due in 3 weeks. The due date is stamped in the back of the book.
- Students can renew their books for 3 more weeks as long as there is not a hold by another student waiting for that title.
- Students with outstanding materials or fines need to clear their account before being allowed to continue checking out books.
- Students and their parents are responsible for paying the replacement cost of any lost or damaged materials. Please check before attempting to replace a book yourself as many of our books are special library bound copies. Therefore, a copy you can buy at retail may not be a suitable replacement.
- You can pay for lost/damaged PBMS MATERIALS ONLY online using the PBMS Media Center School Pay (find link under Online Resources below). You may also send in a check made out to PBMS, or cash in the exact amount, with your student.

hates reading. There are kids who
love reading, and kids who are
reading the wrong books.”
